3.en.6. Idioms with food and posters
On Monday, for our project on the Olivar market we shall be working in groups of three. Each group has chosen an idiom connected with food. the posters will be displayed in our class. German, Spanish and Catalan will also contribute. There are idioms that have to do with food in every language.
Here you can see a collage with your posters. Remember that you must produce a digital version of the poster, as a cover for your power point presentation on the food project.
See you on Monday and Enjoy your weekend!

3.en.5. actors and actresses, food and poems: Andrea, Jilin and Daryl
Dear Students,
Yesterday your class mates, Andrea, Xilin, and Daryl did a great job. They acted as real professional actors in the Poetry Celebration that took place at El Gran Hotel. You remember the poetry workshop, don’t you?
On Monday we’ll go on an outing to El Olivar. The outing is part of our class project this term. FOOD AND EATING HABITS.
We hope you’ll learn a lot of new things, and we expect you’ll find out information about food, shopping habits, local traditions and shops.
We’ve chosen a poem by Enric Casasses to link poetry and food.
…. I el paradís, un bon plat
de verdura.
Enjoy!
al pot petit hi ha poca
confitura
i al cor trancat la veritat
més dura:
mal amagat és mal que
no té cura,
la llibertat, la llei qu és
més segura,
la veritat, bandera que
no es jura,
i el paradís, un bon plat
de verdura.

3.en.4. Too many cooks spoil the broth?.. not really
Some times real life shows us that idioms are not always true.
Rául and Molly, on behalf of the English Department are cooking a delicious “paella” for Alberto Leal’s 1st Year Batxillerat students.
Take note! you must work on a recipe for our outing on Monday, so a paella might be a good idea.
